In 1966 Kirby Morgan was formed and this set the wheels in motion towards the change of the commercial diving industry. As a corporation they have always been focused development of lightweight and comfortable dive gear. Many variants of helmets were engineered and released by Kirby Morgan until in 1975 they used the knowledge they had acquired from these previous models to create the Superlite 17B.

This diving helmet set the working standard in the commercial diving industry across the globe. The helmet has been proven through many hours of underwater operations that it is a dependable, comfortable and, most importantly, safe diving helmet. The 17B is still the most widely used diving helmet in the industry, over 48 years after its initial release.

Kirby Morgan have since released more diving helmets into the industry, built upon the success and quality of the Superlite 17B. These models include the KM 27, KM37 and KM Diamond diving helmets, all of which we stock at SMP.
