SMP complete Hyperbaric Chamber install in Ireland
Overview
SMP Ltd were approached by a company based in Galway, Ireland, that specialised in providing oxygen therapy to manufacture a 14-man hyperbaric chamber. The system also required an air compressor, gas storage cylinders and a PSA plant oxygen generator, all of which had to fit within their premises.
The Challenge
Oxygeneration Clinics Ltd are a company that specialise in offering oxygen therapy and oxygen treatments to the general public. They required a system that would allow multiple people to use the chamber at the same time. The chamber also needed to fit within their site at Galway. The chamber had to be suitable for a variety of different uses such as sports injuries, disabilities and beauty.
The Solution
SMP designed a hyperbaric chamber that would comfortably sit within their premises. With a reception area situated next to the chamber, the system blended with the aesthetic of the room. The complete system consisted of a 14-man hyperbaric oxygen treatment chamber, an air compressor, multiple gas storage cylinders and a PSA plant oxygen generator.
SMP manufactured the TC13 Chamber, a 14-man hyperbaric oxygen treatment chamber, which comfortably sat within their premises. The system is capable of running at a maximum operation of 1.0 Bar. The Chamber is mounted on two saddles allowing under belly access down the length of the vessel. Operators can do visual checks on the patients using the nine view ports installed into the shell of the vessel as well as the additional viewport in the door. The chamber is fitted out with high quality brass and stainless-steel fittings providing the necessary control and instrumentation required to operate the chamber. The control panel provides pneumatic, communications and electrical control of all chamber functions.
The chamber is compliant to Code of Construction and Working Practice for Low Pressure Barochambers and pressure vessel constructed to a recognised code of construction under survey of an IACS member.
Although the chamber is not for diving purposes, it is manufactured and certified in accordance with IMCA guidance to provide a comprehensive assessment of the system. Additional quality assurance is supported by requirements in accordance to HSE guidelines, UK Health and Safety, BSI quality standards and CE accreditation.
