The scientific underwater facility required a hyperbaric chamber that would be able to provide medical attention to divers who needed it at their site in Orkney. Located close to the European Marine Energy Centre, this facility provides the scientific resources as well as the safety and medical support for divers.

The hyperbaric chamber required a fully featured control unit to allow for specialist use of the chamber. They needed the system to be able to support multiple users in confined levels of decompression.

SMP delivered a triple-lock hyperbaric medical chamber with a 2-man operating system to the client in Orkney. The triple-lock system featured an entry lock, a diver lock and a treatment lock.

This state-of-the-art system also included two high pressure air storage quads, a high pressure heliox storage quad, a high-pressure nitrox storage quad and a smaller high-pressure carbon-free air quad. It also included two high pressure compressors and a backup set of gas cylinders.
