SMP manufacture Containerised DDC for Ukrainian Power Plant
The client was a hydro electric power plant based in Ukraine that required a containerised DDC to have on site at their facility. Due to the nature of the power plant, a lot of the facilities mechanisms are based underwater. The client sought out a containerised decompression chamber to allow underwater engineers to safely do their decompression stops on the surface rather than in the water.
SMP manufactured a 1.5m decompression chamber which was housed within a 20-foot ISO container and had the facility to hold 4 people at one time. Also in the container was a MCH 16 Coltri Compressor which would provide the air supply to the chamber. The decompression chamber was also fitted with a medical lock and 2-way communication system following a request by the customer.
The system is fully compliant with IMCA and Lloyds guidelines and has been built to the highest quality which is standard for SMP. With a team of experienced engineers, SMP work hard to deliver lasting quality to all their clients.
SMP has been providing decompression chambers and hyperbaric systems for over 35 years. They are often made to the bespoke requirements of the client and can be free standing or housed within a container.
