SMP are currently preparing their third LARS in the workshop to be completed and ready for shipping next week.

The third LARS is a dual basket launch and recovery system. SMP Dual Basket LARS has been specifically designed to give a compact operating footprint to minimise the deck space required on board a vessel or barge. The LARS can fold down to allow it to fit into a standard ISO shipping container, reducing shipping costs. This also allows for safe storage and protection of the LARS from the elements during periods when the equipment is not required operationally.

The workshop has been full of various projects so far this year. This is the third LARS to be manufactured so far this year and its only January.

The customer requested that this LARS was painted black and yellow, instead of the standard blue and yellow colour scheme that SMP offers. SMP manufacture the systems to be bespoke to the clients requirements so they are designed to fulfil their needs.
