Wet Bell Launch And Recovery Systems (LARS)
WET BELL LAUNCH AND RECOVERY SYSTEMS (LARS)
We are pleased to announce the introduction to the market of two new products.- Wet Bell Launch And Recovery System With Control Cabin & Mixed Gas Panel
- Wet Bell Launch And Recovery System
The SMP Wet Bell LARS is designed within a compact operating footprint to minimise the required operational deck space on board a vessel or barge. Emphasis has been placed on ease of mobilisation and demobilisation, so that costs are kept to a minimum.
The Wet Bell LARS is IMCA D023 and D018 compliant and has Third Party Design approval to Lloyds Rules for Lifting Appliances in a Marine Environment.
When fully retracted by the hydraulic cylinders, with the wet bell and clump weight stowed on the heavy duty based skid, the size and dimensions of the Wet Bell System is comparable in width to an ISO 20’ container, but is approximately 2.0 meters shorter. The heavy duty based skid has ISO corner castings situated on each corner so that the system can be located on conventional twist locks with 6 additional welded deck fastening points for the attachment of bolted sacrificial deck fixing plates, which are provided with each system.
The Wet Bell has a transparent top acrylic dome for 360 degree visibility during diver transit to depth. The Wet Bell can be supplied as a 2 or 3 diver unit to suit the customer's operational requirements.
The Wet Bell System is outfitted with two manriding hydraulic winches for deployment and recovery of the Wet Bell and Clump Weight during normal operation. The clump weight winch can recover the Wet Bell in an emergency situation.
The two 30kW independent hydraulic power units (HPU) are sized to ensure the units are never running at full load conditions, thus extending the life of the HPU. The units are outfitted with premium sized oil reservoirs for safe operation in higher ambient temperatures, with seawater oil coolers fitted as standard. The hydraulic interconnecting piping and fittings from the HPU to the winches and hydraulic cylinders are all 316 Stainless Steel.
The hydraulic cylinders are of heavy duty construction with Stainless Steel cylinder rods fully chrome plated. The cylinders are fitted with counterbalance valves for safety during operation in the event of pressure loss at the cylinder or piping.
With every unit sold you can be sure of SMP's full technical support, from our team of highly experienced designers, engineers and technicians.
